The fashion gods have spoken, and structure will be taking a back seat to flowing fabrics and beaucoups of movement for spring/summer 2010 collections. Gone (at least, for now) are the days of stiff, straight lines and structured pants, jackets and even dresses that we saw late last year. Perfectly keeping within the trends, sweet, light fabrics in flowing silhouettes will be replacing these too strict (and restricting) looks just in time for hot weather! Loose tops over leggings or skinny jeans, floor length maxi dresses, and even harem pants will be taking the spotlight for summer trends this year. These ultra comfy clothes beg to be traveled in, so get ready for that cruise or long road trip in style. Movement in accessories is just as important this year as it is in clothes. Look for earrings with movement, like a pair of sweet and demure Gold Dangle Earrings that will catch the light with their funky faceting. Or try a Multi Gemstone Ring— the array of shapes and colors will look playfully perfect with the movement of the clothes. Stack up a couple Diamond Bangle Bracelet for more movement in an unexpected way (Bonus: a set of diamond bangles is a great accessory set to have, as it is as classic now as it was 50 years ago). Try some of these fluttery finds to make your outfit really move:

The fashion world must have one very big magnifying glass on it, because oversized seems to be an understatement when it comes to trends these days. It started a few years ago with Jackie O. style sunglasses —glamorous and extra large. Now, everything from the ever-so-popular statement necklace, to handbags that can fit all three of your dogs, to record-busting heights of the new and improved platform heels have all grown drastically out of proportion. Oversized tops worn ‘80s style over skinny pants and leggings will be one of the season’s hottest trends, which is wonderful, since this look feels as comfortable as your favorite pajamas, and bonus: there is no sucking-in-of-the-tummy required for this little number. Giant heels are just another oversized option designers are throwing at us, and platforms are a must have for spring and summer! Pair these trends with giant baubles to create a chic and current look. Try a large Blue Topaz and Diamond Ring or a pair of oversized Large Diamond Hoop Earrings to take your look from frumpy to fabulous in seconds! A statement necklace is also a must have trend for this season, so try something classic, like an oversized Gold Circle Necklace (the ‘70s vibe of it is totally current, and it will be a piece you reach for for years!). We love these big beautiful baubles:

Feminism takes on a whole new meaning with the recent nod towards feminine finds in fashion. Ruffles, muted hues and ultra girly silhouettes are popping up all over our fashion radar. Along with the floral prints that have swept the country, we are also seeing dresses and tops with corset cut bodices and high waisted skirts with lots and lots of volume. We’re also seeing a plethora of sweet and girly accents on clothes, shoes and accessories, including things like bows and rosettes. In other words, if it looks like it belongs on a doll, it belongs in your closet for the upcoming spring/summer season. Girly accessories are no exception. Valentino’s spring bags are covered in ladylike accents, such as bows, ruffles and rosettes, which are perfect for any time of year but are especially hot this season. Look for pieces that have floral or feminine details, like a bow or ruffle on the back of a shoe, or a floral printed bag. Your jewels should be no exception to this rule. Look for pieces like a pair of Diamond Flower Earrings or a Pink Sapphire Ring to add some girly glitz to your ensemble. A Diamond Bow Necklace makes a perfect lady-like accent, and it will be a classic staple for years to come as well. We love these foxy feminine finds:

We are seeing right though the trends of spring 2010, as clear baubles and accessories take center stage. According to Wikipedia, Lucite was discovered by the Dupont Company in the 1930s, but it didn’t make its first appearance on the fashion scene until the ‘50s, when Lucite handbags became a futuristic fashion trend. Now, Lucite is as much of a rotating fashion trend as platforms and quilting. The popularity of Lucite may be attributed to its versatility—it’s clear, so it goes with literally everything! These days, Lucite is making another comeback, and we’re seeing clear handbags, heels, and lots and lots of other see-through accessories. Designers are straying from traditional clear Lucite and updating it with color as well. Transparent stones are a fabulous alternative to Lucite, and they can be surprisingly affordable too! Look for cabochon stones (high polished stones without faceting) in jewelry. Amethyst and blue topaz are great, because they are less expensive and are rich in color. Try a Gold Amethyst Ring, Gold Amethyst Pendant or a pair of Gold Amethyst Earrings for a creative twist to clear baubles. The color will instantly update your outfit, while the stones will be super current. Here are some of our faves for cool clear gear:

Here is a fashion trend that would make even John Wayne take notice. Like a rhinestone cowgirl, denim and glamour seem to be walking hand and hand this season, as brown suede leather and embellished denim take center stage. Country inspired fashions are everywhere, and we will be seeing trends such as distressed denim shorts, gingham, cowboy boots (yes, even in summer—they look different and fresh!), as well as lots and lots of western inspired accessories. Cuffs will be especially hot this season, following the statement jewelry trend. Recently, oversized rings and necklaces have been at the top of the trends list, but coming into the spring/summer season of 2010, expect to see a lot of layered bracelets and cuffs in mixed metals and different textures. To look lady-like and yet still be barn ready, go for denim that has unique or interesting distressing and pair it with something clean and simple on top (you can never go wrong with a fitted white tee or tank). A Wide Silver Cuff Bracelet looks fabulous on it’s own for this look, or layer it with funky pieces like a demure Diamond Bangle Bracelet or a funky link Silver & Gold Bracelet. Here are some affordable finds that will make your western-inspired look saddle ready while still looking lady-like:

Fashion forecasts are looking pretty good, as this season is always a popular time to pull out those oh-so-girly colors of spring. As luck would have it, those popular pastels are coming back once again. Pastels usually rotate in the spring fashion line up from year to year, so invest in some fun pieces this year, and store them if they’re not so hot next, since they’ll be sure to make a return. Try sweet pieces in chiffon or silk. These are fabrics that move and will look flowy and romantic in muted pastel shades. Try adding a pop of color in a brighter hue than your ensemble, but in the same color. For example, if you are doing a pastel pink dress or top, try a hot Pink Sapphire Ring. The contrast of tones will look fresh while still coordinating color. Another great way to accessorize this look is with pastel accents themselves. Try a Cultured Pearl Bracelet with lightly hued cabochon gems for a girly way to sport the pastel trend. Or if you are looking for something a bit more subtle, a sea foam Green Quartz & Diamond Pendant with a designer inspired feel adds a hint of color without being too dramatic. Here are a few accessories even the Easter Bunny would drool over:

Shakespeare would be swept away by the romantic fashions designers are showing for spring 2010. Lacy frocks with bows and layers, sweetheart necklines, delicate shoulder baring tops, and lots and lots of floral prints are just some of the trends that make up this sweet and demure look that has swept fashion critics off their feet. A romantic look is fabulous for all women, and it spans generations, meaning no matter if you’re 14 or 94, there is a version of the perfect romantic look for you. If you are younger, stay away from frilly collars and things that might make you look more matronly. Instead, go for bright floral prints and look for mini dresses with sweetheart necklines. Pair this look with a pink or peach cardigan and a pair of Multi Color Pearl Earrings to look Romeo-ready in seconds. If you’re 25 or older, go for something a little more sophisticated. Look for pieces like tops and blouses that have an embellished overlay in feminine colors, or try a tiered skirt with a blazer and sky-high heels to make your look high fashion as well as romantic. A romantic-feeling statement piece like a bold cocktail style Amethyst Heart Ring or an oversized Heart Toggle Necklace with detailed scalloping make perfect accent pieces to this flirty look. Here are some examples we found that will turn you from just Jude to Juliette in no time:

We have been waiting and waiting, and spring is only days away now. And along with the forever popular floral prints and frills of spring fashion comes another white-hot trend we see every spring. Bright white hot, to be exact. White is a huge trend for spring and summer fashion, so do it any way you want! White is wonderful for many reasons. Not only does it look fabulous with a tan (or Spray Tan, if you’re like me and avoid sunlight at all cost), but come on– who doesn’t look fabulous in a white dress (it is my theory why most brides really look so much better than everyone else at the wedding). A white dress seems like a piece that is only suitable for summer months, but pair it with a gray boyfriend blazer and some booties and it is instantly fall ready! A white collared button down is a classic must have for every fashionista. And while the general rule that white shoes are only to be sported post Memorial Day still applies, a white ensemble never looks so good as it does with a bright pop of color decorating your tootsies. A Contemporary Jewelry look that complements this look flawlessly is the rich mixture of pure white and yellow gold. The bright yellow color of the gold has a warm feel and looks fresh and expensive next to white for summer. Try a Large Gold Ring or Gold Onyx Bracelet for an unexpected twist of white, black and gold. Layer gold Diamond Bangle Bracelets in a bamboo inspired style for a look that is simply chic and perfect for summer. Looking for places to discover such fabulous finds? We love how these golden treasures glow:

Don’t get us wrong, because we are seriously loving the mix of prints and colors that is so hot this season. But with that said, a new trend has recently caught our eye and we think we may have found our match, or yours! Matchy-matchy is almost always a no-no when it comes to fashion, but times seem to have changed even that rule. Fabulous dresses meet their match, as shoes and bags paired exactly with their dramatic counter-couture have been spotted all over the red carpets of spring. A fabulous gray silk dress with layered details looks fabulous with a strappy pair of matching sky-high stilettos. If head-to-toe matching isn’t your thing, break it up by looking for jewelry ensembles instead of donning something that resembles an Army uniform. If you are a risk taker, try something fun and even a little edgy, like a colorful pair of Multi Gemstone Earrings, a Multi Gemstone Necklace, and a Multi Gemstone Ring, paired with a mod white shift dress and white heels (this look is super hot an perfect for spring!!). If your style is a little more refined, try a classic combo like a South Sea Pearl Bracelet, South Sea Pearl Ring and South Sea Pearl Necklace. Add a pair of South Sea Pearl Earrings and you will be perfectly coordinated without looking manufactured. Here are some of our picks for combos that will match you just right:

Tribal and global have been two trends that have stuck around over the last few seasons, and now we’re seeing an interesting twist on this trend. Gladiator sandals, which came in style a few years ago but were made even more popular in the U.S. when Sarah Jessica Parker sported a pair of sexy black Christian Dior gladiator sandals in the hit movie “Sex and The City.” Well, maybe we should be thanking Ms. Parker (or her stylist), because the gladiator shoe has brought with it a whole new style all its own: Warrior. Structured and intricate collars, graphic tribal inspired prints, and earthy textures reminiscent of armor are all part of a growing trend that speaks to the uniforms of warriors past. This trend is not just for the tomboy either! Try this trend in embellished gladiator flats or a black leather mini skirt with a structured top with intricate embellishments inspired by armor (like unique boning, studded details, or layered fabrics in tough patterns). Sterling Silver Jewelry is a fabulous way to accessorize this look. It is such a reflective metal that it is perfect for a rough and tough warrior look. A shield inspired Silver & Gold Ring in sterling silver and 18k gold or a Wide Silver Cuff Bracelet are perfect for warrior attire. An oversized Silver & Gold Pendant will also make the perfect statement piece for this look. Here are some of our favorite pieces that will look wonderfully warrior and perfectly polished:
